Windsurfing in Minorca

Minorca has an active year round windsurfing population. Depending on wind direction there a number of different beaches that can be sailed that offer good conditions for all levels of windsurfer. In the summer months the warm water and usually gentle wind makes the island a great training ground for beginners and intermediates. Summer thermal breezes provide enough wind for bigger freeride boards and sometimes freestyle kit, and there are usually some stronger wind days too. Winter windsurfing is often cold with the predominant Tramontana winds, which can get very strong. Sails from 3.5 to 5.5 are more typical for winter sailing. Spring and Autumn often bring good days for sailing on the south coast. Check the spot reports in this section and the galleries for more information and images.
